Carpet Cleaning

Professional Carpet Systems uses Hot Water Extraction (HWE), the only method recommended by Shaw, Mohawk, and other manufacturers. We will use this method at all locations, such as residential, small offices, banks, and executive areas in North Alabama. We also offer Green cleaning on request; we will use Masterblend cleaning agents, which are made from plant material.

Hot water extraction is still the only method that cleans deep into the fibers, and, at over 160 degrees, it sanitizes as it cleans. Yes, it leaves the carpets wetter, but they are far cleaner. We use pre-treated, pre-softened water that is set at 208 degrees. We bring our own soft water into your home, because soft water is better than tap water that is normally used. Soft water will clean better, dry faster, and dry softer because there is NOT as much cleaning residue left at all. Typical drying times are 2-8 hours (more heavily soiled carpets may take longer). We can set blowers (if requested) to accelerate the drying time. Setting the HVAC fan to “On” and turning on ceiling fans also will aid in the drying process.

After we hot water extract the carpet, we also offer DuPont Teflon carpet protector. Dupont Teflon is applied to the carpet after cleaning and then raked in with a special carpet groomer that distributes the protector evenly throughout the carpet.

Effective 1/1/2008, some manufacturers are requiring that the professional cleaning (required for warranty coverage) is performed by a firm certified by the Institute of Inspection, Cleaning, and Restoration (IICRC). Additionally, effective 1/1/2007, the carpet manufacturing industry is requiring that products used to clean residential carpeting, have been approved by the Carpet and Rug Institute Seal of Approval (CRI SOA). Professional Carpet Systems is both IICRC and CRI certified, as well as a member of the Professional Cleaners Association.

Our professional steam cleaning will improve the appearance of your carpet. It will extend the life of your carpet, improve the indoor air quality, and remove stains that other cleaners can’t get out.
